The MVP of the tournament, Felipe Marquínez, who led VCF Academy Houston to third place in the IV VCF Academy World Cup, was especially grateful. The collective ovation he received upon being named MVP confirmed the coaches’ good judgment.
“I felt very happy to be with my teammates in Valencia. It has been a great experience playing among all the countries and teams, making new friends, and not all children can enjoy that experience,” said the young player from VCF Academy Houston with Argentine roots.
“Valencia CF has had great Argentine players like Mario Kempes and many more. Someday I would like to be like them,” concluded Felipe, who received the award and Puma boots from Ricardo Arias, Club ambassador and Valencia CF legend.
