The Truenorayo Fest reveals the first batch of confirmations with the eight names that will be part of the lineup for its twelfth edition. Cariño, Aiko El Grupo, Repion, Las Petunias + Amor Líquido, Grandmas House, La 126, and Neura are the first confirmed artists for the festival, which will take place on September 25, 26, and 27 at La Mutant in València.
The event returns once again as one of the most recognized events in the Valencian cultural agenda, presenting itself as a meeting place to enjoy a carefully curated selection of bands, with a strong advocacy attitude and full of illustration. Three days filled with concerts and creativity in a space where unique experiences are shared through dancing and various cultural activities.
True to its essence for over eleven years, the Truenorayo Fest continues to combine international bands with prominent names from the national scene, while also highlighting emerging local projects.
The audience at La Mutant will be thrilled with the proposal from Cariño, one of the most talked-about projects in recent years. Shedding the «tonti» prefix once and for all, they will showcase the twelve uppercase POP tracks that make up their latest work «Tanto por hacer,» with more grounded sounds but without losing that slightly kawaii touch in the arrangements that so identify them.
On the other hand, the live performance of Aiko El Grupo promises to be one of the highlights of the edition, as their punk pop has made them a spearhead of the genre. Repion is synonymous with grunge, as the Iñesta sisters, Marina and Teresa, have revived the sounds of the ’90s with powerful lyrics and a captivating live show. Their latest EP, «Entre todas lo arreglamos,» is sure to captivate everyone present.
As for Las Petunias + Amor Líquido, they are what music needs right now, so in this shared show format, they will once again demonstrate why they are two of the best new bands of the moment.
Regarding Grandmas House, their debut EP «Anything For You» is the definitive consecration, if it wasn’t clear already, that the Bristol quartet is one of the names that should stand out above the punk scene.
Finally, La 126 will arrive as representatives of the new rock from Elche with their latest EP featuring distorted guitars and pop sensibility; and Neura will surprise with a marked retrofuturistic style influenced by ’80s synth pop under a renewed electronic texture.
DESIGN AND ILLUSTRATION
In terms of design and illustration, fundamental pillars for Truenorayo, the poster for this twelfth edition has been entrusted to the illustrator Sara Herranz, a writer and visual artist located in a unique creative space that has made a mark in both graphic novels and commercial illustration. She is the author of the books «Todo lo que nunca te dije lo guardo aquí» (Lunwerg, 2015) and «La persona Incorrecta» (Lunwerg, 2017).
For the same publisher, she has published the illustrated version of Simone de Beauvoir’s «La mujer rota» and Elena Gallén’s essay «El diablo es una mujer.» Beyond her literary success, prestigious brands like Chanel, Samsung, Gucci, and Vogue have trusted her to illustrate their campaigns.
Over three days, the Truenorayo Fest will offer a cultural program conceived from inclusion and feminism. There will be bands, both those already announced and those yet to be revealed, as well as various DJ sessions.
