Diego López, the Asturian winger of Valencia CF, has been one of the most important players for the Valencian team this season. This is exemplified by being one of the few players in LaLiga to have participated in all domestic league matches.
At 23 years old, the Turón-born player has had a great season, playing in 38 official LaLiga matches, accumulating 2,760 minutes. Alongside him, only Griezmann, Sergi Darder, Budimir, Lukébakio, David Soria, and Joan García have had minutes in every game of the national competition.
Throughout the 24-25 season, Diego López has contributed 8 goals —being the second top scorer of the team— and has provided 5 assists, making him the top assister for Valencia CF.
It’s worth mentioning that he is among the nominees for the best Under-23 player in LaLiga EA SPORTS 24-25 (he was already the best Under-23 player in March). Internationally, he is also a key player for the Spanish U-21 coach, Santi Denia, with whom he won Olympic gold in Paris. Additionally, Diego López is part of the squad for the preparation of Euro 2025.
