The General Directorate of Disability of the City Council has prepared, in view of the upcoming Fallas festivities, a new specific inclusive QR code about the festival, aimed at people with disabilities, with the aim of providing them with all the useful information about the festive event.
As is customary in all festive events in the city, the City Council has once again launched this practical tool, which facilitates access and inclusion in the events of the Fallas calendar, with all kinds of information that can be accessed by scanning the code. The tool has been developed in collaboration with various NGOs and associations, such as Plena Inclusión CV, Fesord CV, Fundación Mira’m, Junta Central Fallera, JCF, and the Inclusión Fallera association.
Through the QR optical tag (for its acronym in English quick response), users can directly access all the information about the Fallas 2025 festivities in different augmentative and alternative communication systems, sign language, easy reading, in Valencian and Spanish, and accessible PDF.
Among the information that can be accessed is the location of restricted areas for people with reduced mobility in the different scheduled events, such as the mascletaes in the Town Hall square, among others. Information is also provided on the access rules to the restricted areas for people with reduced mobility, and on the fireworks schedule.
Additionally, a direct link via SMS with the Local Police for possible emergencies is included, a direct service from the Local Police of València to citizens, through written communication or auditory via SMS for people with disabilities. As highlighted by the General Directorate of Disability of the City Council, this system allows for a conversation to address the needs of citizens and attend to them immediately.
The tool also includes the official program of Fallas 2025, and accessible explanations of the different elements that are part of the program, such as the Ninot Parade or the fallas monuments. It also includes a guide with recommendations for the respectful use of pyrotechnics during the Fallas.
This inclusion project dedicated to this year’s Fallas also has special editions dedicated to other prominent festivities in the city, such as Corpus, Feria de Julio, 9 d’Octubre, or Semana Santa Marinera, among others.
70 Inclusive Fallas
The General Directorate of Disability of the City Council has also reported that, through the Inclusión Fallera association, and in collaboration with the General Directorate, a total of 70 inclusive fallas from different neighborhoods of the city have been achieved for this year’s Fallas. For this purpose, an inclusive QR code will be enabled, with all the information about the monuments, which will be disseminated soon.
