The Local Government Board approved on Friday the award of the works for the construction of the Tres Forques-Vara de Quart bike lane, a project that will involve a total investment of 1.3 million euros (specifically, 1,295,948.48 €, including VAT) and is expected to be completed in 6 and a half months. The initiative is part of the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan Strategy, which is funded by the European funds Next Generation EU.
As explained by Councilor Juan Carlos Caballero at the end of the Board session, the project has been awarded to the company Becsa SA, which submitted the best offer, after excluding another proposal for «being identified as abnormally low in terms of reducing the deadline criterion,» as indicated in the Board’s agreement.
The section of bike lane to be built has a total length of 3,887 meters, running entirely along Tres Forques Avenue, and including a small side street branch from the intersection of Chiva and Mestre Bellver streets.
According to the approved project, this new bike lane will have a bidirectional section of 713 meters connecting Llanterners Street and Tres Forques Street, with a width of 2.5 meters, and a unidirectional section of 3,174 meters and a width of 1.5 meters, running between Tres Creus Avenue and Pérez Galdós Avenue.
