The Conselleria de Sanidad has set the high risk level (red) for high temperatures in 139 municipalities in 16 regions of the Valencian Community this Saturday, as reported in a post on the social network ‘X’.
In particular, the red alert applies to Castellnovo, Geldo, Navajas, and Sot de Ferrer (l’Alt Palància); Canet lo Roig, la Pobla de Benifassà, la Salzadella, San Rafael del Río, and Sant Mateu (el Baix Maestrat); Benferri, Bigastro, Callosa de Segura, Cox, Granja de Rocamora, Rafal, Redován, and San Isidro (el Baix Segura); Riba-roja de Túria, Benaguasil, Benissanó, l’Eliana, la Pobla de Vallbona, Llíria, and Vilamarxant (el Camp de Túria); Alcosser, Benimarfull, and l’Alqueria d’Asnar (El Comtat); Cinctorres, Forcall, Herbers, la Mata de Morella, Morella, Olocau del Rey, Palanques, Portell de Morella, Todolella, Vallibona, Villores, Zorita del Maestrazgo, and Castellfort (Els Ports); Useras (L’Alcalatén).

The high risk also affects Artana, Betxí, Eslida, la Vall d’Uixó, la Vilavella, Onda, Vila-real (la Plana Baixa); Alberic, Alfarb, Algemesí, Alginet, Alzira, Antella, Benifaió, Benimodo, Benimuslem, Carcaixent, Carlet, Catadau, Gavarda, Guadassuar, l’Alcúdia, Llombai, Massalavés, Tous, Turís, Montroi, Montserrat, Real, Alcàntera de Xúquer, Beneixida, Càrcer, Castelló de la Ribera, Cotes, l’Ènova, la Pobla Llarga, Manuel, Rafelguaraf, Sant Joanet, Senyera, and Sumacàrcer (la Ribera Alta); Albalat de la Ribera, Benicull de Xúquer, Corbera, Polinyà de Xúquer, Riola, and Sollana (la Ribera Baixa).
Additionally, municipalities like Ador, Alfauir, Almiserà, Almoines, Beniarjó, Benifairó de la Valldigna, Beniflá, Castellonet de la Conquesta, el Real de Gandia, l’Alqueria de la Comtessa, la Font d’en Carròs, Llocnou de Sant Jeroni, Oliva, Palma de Gandia, Palmera, Potries, Rafelcofer, Ròtova, Simat de la Valldigna, and Vilallonga (la Safor); Bugarra, Chulilla, and Pedralba (Els Serrans) are under the red alert.
On the other hand, the Department of Health has established the medium or orange risk level in municipalities in 24 regions. In Castellón, Arañuel, Cirat, Montanejos, Torrechiva, and Vallat (l’Alt Millars); Chovar, Gaibiel, Jérica, Segorbe, Soneja, Vall de Almonacid, and Viver (Alt Palància); Alcalà de Xivert, Càlig, Cervera del Maestre, la Jana, Rossell, Sant Jordi, Santa Magdalena de Pulpis, and Traiguera (el Baix Maestrat); Vilafranca del Cid (Els Ports); Costur (l’Alcalatén); Atzeneta del Maestrat (l’Alt Maestrat); Cabanes and la Pobla Tornesa (la Plana Alta); and Alfondeguilla, les Alqueries, Nules, Tales, Almenara, and la Llosa (la Plana Baixa) have been affected.
In Alicante, municipalities like Albatera, Benejúzar, Catral, Dolores, Jacarilla, and Orihuela (el Baix Segura); Beniarrés, Benilloba, Benillup, Gaianes, Gorga, and Muro de Alcoy (El Comtat); Cañada and Villena (l’Alt Vinalopó); Benimeli, Dénia, el Ràfol de l’Almúnia, l’Atzúbia, Murla, Orba, Pedreguer, and Pego (la Marina Alta) are experiencing the orange alert.
Equally, in Valencia, the alert has been activated for Gestalgar, Losa del Obispo, and Villar del Arzobispo (Els Serrans); Alfara de la Baronia, Algar de Palancia, Algímia d’Alfara, Petrés, and Torres Torres (el Camp de Morvedre); Bétera, Casinos, Marines, Olocau, and San Antonio de Benagéber (el Camp de Túria); Paterna (l’Horta Nord); Alcàsser, Aldaia, Manises, Quart de Poblet, Alaquàs, Picassent, and Torrent (l’Horta Sud); Canals, Cerdà, el Genovés, Estubeny, l’Alcúdia de Crespins, la Granja de la Costera, la Llosa de Ranes, Llanera de Ranes, Llocnou d’en Fenollet, Novetlè, Rotglà i Corberà, Torrella, Vallés, and Xàtiva (la Costera) are all under the orange alert.
The municipalities of Chiva and Yátova (la Hoya de Buñol); Venta del Moro (la Plana de Utiel-Requena); Sellent (la Ribera Alta); Almussafes, Favara, Fortaleny, and Llaurí (la Ribera Baixa); Barx, Bellreguard, Benirredra, Gandia, Miramar, Piles, and Xeresa (la Safor); as well as Alfarrasí, Bellús, Benissuera, Montaverner, and Pinet (la Vall d’Albaida) are also impacted.
PRECAUTION AGAINST THE HEATWAVE
The Generalitat has urged caution in light of a heatwave declared from this Saturday until at least Tuesday, July 1, according to a post by the regional administration on social media.
The heatwave particularly affects the inland areas of the Comunitat, such as the Júcar and Segura valleys, where temperatures are expected to reach 38-40 degrees. It has been noted that June 29 and 30 will be «the toughest days,» with temperatures exceeding 40 degrees and tropical nights in vast areas of the region.
Additionally, the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has warned on its website that a special heatwave alert has been issued affecting the provinces of Alicante and Valencia this Saturday.
Specifically, they have indicated that the northern coast of Alicante and the southern coast of Valencia are under an orange alert for high temperatures, while a yellow alert has been activated for the southern coast of Alicante, the northern and southern interiors of Valencia, and the northern coast of Valencia.
