Salomé Pradas, former Minister of Justice and Interior on the day of the dana, has issued a statement expressing her willingness to help uncover the whole truth about the dana management.
Pradas stated that she was «attending to the institutional functions required by the applicable regulations» from the first minute to the last on October 29.
After being summoned as a suspect by the judge in Catarroja (Valencia) investigating the responsibilities in the management of the disaster that resulted in over 220 deaths, Pradas emphasizes that she became aware of her future testimony through the media. She mentions that her lawyers and legal representative will appear in court to understand the proceedings and rulings made in recent months, as their only source of information has been media reports.
The former Minister emphasizes that she will always be available to «help uncover the truth about the circumstances surrounding the management of the natural disaster» out of respect for the victims, the affected individuals, and the judicial process.
She also states that, in consideration of the victims, the affected parties, and the ongoing legal proceedings, she will refrain from making further statements until her court appearance.
