The popular university (UP) received a score of 8 out of 10 in relation to the satisfaction level of its users with the service offered, according to the Municipal Barometer on Education and Training in January 2025. José Gosálbez said, «Users described us with a remarkable level, a result that we appreciate, satisfy, and confirms that the changes implemented and the new administration were successful. Additionally, it is the municipal training service with the highest number of users and one of the most recognized, representing the high social value of this municipal service.»
The councilor added that «it is important, the significance of the public function it performs and a great service vocation.»
Out of a total of 10 municipal services offering training related to the survey, the popular university ranks first in the number of registered users. 6.9% of respondents in the city participated in one of its courses, almost 12% of those over 65. Across districts, it rises to over 19% in the Southern poor, over 15% in the countryside, and over 13% in Quatre Carreres. Additionally, it is the fourth municipal service with the most appreciated training, with 8 out of 10.
Regarding the level of awareness among users about the ten municipal services offering training, an average of 50% of those surveyed are aware of the Popular University of the Local Council as a whole; a figure that increases to over 65% in Camins of Grau, Algirós, and Benimaclet.
The Popular University is the fourth most known training service among citizens in the city out of the ten surveyed. Its public awareness level is higher among women (53% are aware) than men (46%) and among those aged 65 or older (55.4%), although almost 40% of those under 40 also know the popular university. It should be mentioned that over 15% of the population of Valencia has taken an unregistered training course in the last year, such as the activities offered by the popular university.
The survey was conducted for the Valencia Local Council, between September and October 2024, personally and with a sample of 2,353 random interviews, considering gender, age, occupation, and nationality probabilities.
