El Parc Central de Torrent (Valencia) has brought together more than 3,000 people from different municipalities this Saturday to enjoy the ‘GermanorFest’, a solidarity festival promoted by Amstel to support those affected by the dana on October 29 and «bring back a smile to their faces.»
Attendees have experienced a morning «full» of traditions and artistic talent, where gastronomy, art, and music have come together in an unprecedented solidarity initiative, as stated by Amstel in a press release.
The morning session of the ‘GermanorFest’ has paid tribute to those affected by the dana and has once again been «a reflection of the spirit of community and reconstruction that defines the people of Valencia.»
In Valencia, lunch «more than a meal is a ritual of meeting and brotherhood.» Therefore, on this occasion, attendees have been able to enjoy the «best ‘esmorzars’,» thanks to the participation of establishments that have shown their resilience and commitment to the community.
Among the participants were Cal Carrero, an iconic horchatería in Torrent affected by the floods; Gastro Trinquet, modern Valencian cuisine in an area hit by the dana; Bar Ca Rakel, a venue that has been reborn after the catastrophe; Magallanes, a reference point for ‘esmorzars’, reopened thanks to the community, and La Mesedora, an example of solidarity, reopened after the damages suffered.
Furthermore, the event has shown that art is also a tool for unity and recovery, and on this day, various artists affected by the dana have shared their art in participatory workshops and live creations such as painting on ceramics with Valencian motifs; illustrations on boards and canvases with birds and swallows as symbols of hope; personalized fans inspired by the dana and the fallero world; T-shirts designed with solidarity messages, and the collaborative embroidery workshop inspired by the unity of the people and reconstruction.
Music and humor have been the «key» in this morning session, with artists who have felt the effects of the dana up close and have decided to contribute their talent to lift spirits and raise funds. Such as Jove Big Band Sedajazz and Dixieland Sedajazz, independent musicians whose headquarters in La Torre was destroyed; Los Roper, with their rock versions with a spirit of solidarity; The Sepionets, a gastro-rock band from Sedaví that collaborates in the reconstruction of their locality, or La Golfería, which with its rhythms has accompanied the affected in their recovery.
The ‘GermanorFest’ «would not be possible without the dedication of the Torrent community, which has once again shown its welcoming and resilient capacity, becoming the epicenter of reconstruction after the dana,» highlighted by Amstel, which, under its ‘Feta de Germanor’ project, reaffirms its commitment to Valencia and its traditions.
For each attendee at the festival, Amstel will donate five euros to the Fundació Horta Sud, channeling the help towards the affected fallas.
