The Polytechnic University of Valencia, UPV, will turn València into an international hub for green innovation with the celebration, tomorrow Thursday, June 5, of the V International Congress Smart Business: Innovation & Values. This is a landmark event in València, taking place at the Blue Cube Auditorium of the City Polytechnic of Innovation, with the participation of representatives from the City Council of València and Valencia Innovation Capital. «It is an initiative that consolidates the city’s commitment to sustainable innovation and technological development,» explained the Councilor for Innovation, Paula Llobet.
The City Council of València, driving force of technological and green innovation
The City Council of València plays a decisive role in this congress as a central actor driving the strategy of sustainable urban innovation in the city. The director of Valencia Innovation Capital, David Rosa, and the director of Invest in València, Paola Miquel, will participate in the roundtable discussion titled «Strategies in Intelligent Technologies: Personalized, Predictive, and Sustainable,» alongside numerous business leaders with the joint aim of offering an innovative vision on how intelligent technologies are transforming the modus operandi of companies and industries. They will also address how digitalization is fostering the transition to a more sustainable and efficient urban model.
This prominence reflects the City Council of València’s commitment to making the city a European benchmark in green innovation, by supporting projects like Smart Business, which integrate disruptive technologies, digitalization, and sustainability, and by promoting public-private collaboration to accelerate the development of solutions that enhance the quality of life for citizens.
An international forum to share knowledge and experiences
The Smart Business Congress will bring together over 30 international experts from leading universities, companies, and research centers. Among them are names like Gokcin Cinar, a researcher in NASA-funded electrified aerospace propulsion projects; Dustin Tingley, a specialist in energy transition from Harvard University; or David Stainforth, a professor in climate strategy from the London School of Economics. Also participating are Spanish executives from the sector, such as Marta Marinas, director of strategic accounts at Google Spain, and Alicia Muñoz Lombardía, deputy secretary of the Social Council of Santander Spain.
Additionally, 26 representatives from companies, public institutions, and technological centers will share success stories and best practices to promote sustainable innovation, including Coca-Cola, IBM, Air Nostrum, UBE Europe Corporate, Statkraft, and Stadler.
Norberto Martínez, congress director, emphasized that «this event aims to showcase the most innovative strategies in the green transition and create a trusted space to boost investment in R&D and sustainability.» «We believe in collaboration, positive influence, and the exchange of ideas between the scientific, academic, business, and institutional spheres to build a more green and resilient industrial fabric and urban environment to address the challenges we face as a society,» he noted.
