Valencia CF coach, Carlos Corberán, has appeared in a press conference after the victory against UD Las Palmas in matchday 34 of LALIGA EA SPORTS 2024-25 held at the Estadio de Gran Canaria.
Match
“I would divide the first half in two. In the first, we were superior and managed to overcome pressure and reach the opponent’s area with danger. We didn’t finish as well as we could have, but the team was able to impose itself in the game. Once we scored the goal, gradually, we lost control of the game and started losing the possibility of harming the opponent. They didn’t create many chances, but we gave the ball away too much. All of that made the match be played near our area instead of UD Las Palmas’. In the second half, we wanted to improve that and they pressured us more. We found a goal that gave us the advantage and, overall, the team held on until the final minutes. UD Las Palmas’ second goal changed the excitement of the match. The team had to suffer and resist a lot to achieve this important victory”.
Victory
“We were aware of the difficulty of playing in this field where Valencia CF hadn’t won in a long time, facing a rival in a positive dynamic. We were clear about the demand of the match. Above tactics, emotions had a fundamental aspect”.

Final minutes
“The three points are very valuable. The price to pay has been moments of great suffering”.

Standings
“I don’t focus on the mathematical aspect. I want the team to compete, each match, at their best level. We have done very good things and others that we need to improve. Emotions played a crucial part in the match. We have upcoming matches. There are 12 points left to play for. We have taken a big step, but I want to see the team continue competing in every remaining match”.
